Kitchen Remodel {My Nightmare soon to be my dream}
Hey there strangers!! So, I feel like my last few posts have been all "Sorry I've been gone, here's why, I'll never do it again" sort of beginings. Well obviously I keep doing it, and my life is busy, ok? Thanks for understanding. I'm glad we're friends. You just, get me. Also, in case you didn't know, sometimes I'm a flake, and I appreciate that you understand and accept that dear readers.
We are in the middle of renovating the main level in our house right now. "In the middle of" as in living with no kitchen. Did you know that SUCKS? Cause it sure does. So I am here today to share a few progress photos with you to let you in on what my freaking world is like right now. I am working in the midst of the chaos in the house, because, well time doesn't stand still, even if you have no kitchen. Have I said that we have no kitchen? Because, boy, there's just nothing. there.
So a couple of weeks ago now we tore into the kitchen. Here is our progress on Demo day 1:
Let me tell you how fun digging all of that fiberglass insulation out of the soffit was. Not fun, actually. As you can imagine, it also sucked. But I was liberated of the oppressive soffit in my kitchen, so it's all good!!
At this point we were still "using" the kitchen, so I cleaned everything up and we came back for round 2:
And that is where our kitchen is today. However, we will be making some progress today. My kind, generous, helpful, handy, lovely brother-in-law, who happens to be an electrician and jack of all trades, is coming today to help us move forward with the electrical work. Once we get that done we will go on to drywall, mud and taping, painting, laying floor, CABINETS, appliances then countertop. I am beyond excited for everything to come together, and just have to keep reminding myself that it will be fantastic when we are done. But for now, meals are.....interesting.
